"Gold Rush Cottage"

Hill End is an historic gold mining town located in the Central Tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia, about 77km northwest of Bathurst. Like Sofala, it was also established during the gold rush in the mid-1800s and played a significant role in the history of gold mining in Australia. It was the birthplace of the famous Australian artist, Brett Whiteley who spent part of his childhood in Hill End and later returned to the town as an adult to paint some of his most iconic works, which were inspired by the town's landscape and history. Today, visitors can see some of Whiteley's works at the Hill End Historic Site and learn more about his connection to the town.

This painting was done as part of an online workshop run by the highly regarded Australian impressionist artist, Kasey Sealy.

This piece has been hand painted onto stretched canvas and comes unframed.
